Portrait of Rogene Villamonte

About Rogene

The baker behind CakeTreats

Rogene Villamonte has been making cakes for more than 35 years. For her, flavor comes first — and decoration is the beautiful bonus.

CakeTreats is where clients, friends, and family can browse her work, gather ideas, and call to order a custom cake for local pickup in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A lifetime of cake decorating

Cake decorating has been part of Rogene’s life for decades. She made her own wedding cake — a personal beginning that says a lot about how long she has been shaping frosting, planning designs, and putting flavor at the center of every celebration.

Over more than 35 years, that practice became a craft people return to again and again: moist cakes meant to taste as good as they look, decorated for birthdays, weddings, religious celebrations, and everyday special occasions.

Many bakers put the design first and settle for a dry cake. Rogene starts with a moist, delicious cake — then makes it beautiful.

Creativity on stage and in the kitchen

Before CakeTreats became the place to browse her cakes online, Rogene was already used to detail, timing, and performance. Born in David City, Nebraska, she later earned a Legal Assistant Associate Degree from the Lincoln School of Commerce and worked as a paralegal secretary.

For nine years, from 1989 to 1998, she performed professionally as a magician’s assistant alongside her husband, Luis Villamonte — nearly 300 shows a year. They still share select magic shows, while much of their focus has turned to family and the businesses they built together in Lincoln.

Family businesses

In 2001, Luis and Rogene founded MagicKits.com, the magic shop that still serves as CakeTreats pickup. Rogene also serves as CFO of The Computer Magician, the family’s Lincoln-based IT company, and is Microsoft Certified.

CakeTreats today

Rogene has baked for some of Nebraska’s finest chefs. Many people say her cookies and cakes are among the best they have ever tasted — not because the decoration shouts for attention, but because the cake itself is worth celebrating.

This website is for browsing ideas and photographs. Orders are placed by phone. Rogene does not ship cakes; pickup is local at MagicKits.com Magic Shop in Lincoln.
